Acer pseudoplatanus 'Hermitage' is a special Sycamore tree. Although the first bronze shoots suggest otherwise, the leaves variegate quickly in white and dark green. The variegation stays longer than existing varieties. A closer look shows tiny white and green spots within the variegation. The trifoliate leaves are a feast for the eyes. Another advantage is the compactness of the plant. 'Hermitage' is very hardy and an absolute fantastic street tree.
