Acer palmatum'Butterscotch' is a nice Japanese Maple. It produces a bright pink leaf scheme, which remains up to six weeks. After this bright pink the plant slowly turns to soft brown and later dark green. After the longest day 'Butterscotch' starts growing again. This fresh shot is also pink, but less bright and will turn to bright red until late September. Since 'Butterscotch' is a compact grower is it suitable for small gardens and terrace. The plant is absolute hardy.
