Euonymus fortunei 'Mickaela' (pbr)

Euonymus fortunei cultivars are well-known for their versatility. These evergreen shrubs are easy to establish and can be used in various ways. The new variety 'Mickaela' is no exception to this. It was found as a sport in 'Sunspot' and the foliage is equally joyful. The leaves are golden-yellow to light yellow with deep green margins. The young shoots are fresh green and go well with the older, more heavily variegated foliage. The twigs are also coloured light yellow. 'Mickaela' is an excellent groundcover, reaching about 60 cm in height. It is very suitable for group plantings as well. Combinations with blue or (violet) purple flowering plants can create a stunning effect. The joyful colours make 'Mickaela' also very suitable as a potted plant on a balcony or terrace. When grown in a pot, the longer twigs will be gracefully hanging over the edges.

Like other cultivars of Euonymus fortunei, 'Mickaela' will flourish in almost any soil. It is most suitable for a semi-shaded position, but will also do well in full sun.
